Westin Platypus 19cm 94g – Sinking Big-Pike Crankbait That Rises on the Pause

Designed by Scandinavian lure craftsman Allan Christiansen after 32 prototypes and countless hours of on-water testing, the Westin Platypus 19cm in Great Silver is built for one purpose: fooling large, pressured pike. It sinks on the cast, digs down to 6m on the retrieve, and rises slowly when you stop – a pause action that big predators find almost impossible to refuse.

Slow-Rise Pause Action Triggers Reluctant Pike

When you pause the retrieve, the Platypus 19cm hangs momentarily in the water column before beginning a slow, controlled rise. This suspended, wounded-baitfish behaviour is especially effective in cold spring conditions when pike are sluggish and suspicious. Fish it on a slow, stop-and-go retrieve to maximise this effect.

Deep-Searching Versatility at Any Speed

The 19cm, 94g body reaches 1–6m depending on retrieve speed and rod angle, covering everything from mid-water to deeper holding areas. At higher speeds the lure delivers a tight, rolling action that stays just as convincing. The Ultra Sonic rattle ball sends low-frequency vibrations ahead of the lure, helping pike locate it in coloured or low-light water.
