Designed by Scandinavian lure craftsman Allan Christiansen after 32 prototypes and countless hours on the water, the Platypus 16 cm Low Floating crankbait (wobbler) has earned its reputation as one of Scandinavia's go-to big-pike lures. At 56 g and 16 cm, it casts well on heavy pike gear and runs at 1–3 m depth.

Slow-Rise Buoyancy That Triggers Reluctant Predators

What sets the Platypus 16 cm apart is its precisely tuned low-floating action: pause the retrieve and the lure hangs momentarily before drifting slowly upward. That hesitation mimics a wounded baitfish and is devastatingly effective on wary, cold-water pike that ignore conventional crankbaits. The action holds at both crawling and high-speed retrieves, giving you flexibility throughout the season.

Built for Hard Fishing, Wired for Big Fish

The body is moulded from ABS plastic and features a full wire-through-body construction, so even the most violent runs from large pike cannot pull the hooks free from the lure. An Ultra Sonic rattle ball broadcasts low-frequency vibrations that help fish locate the lure in coloured or low-light water. Japanese-style carbon steel trebles are ultra-sharp straight from the packet.
