The W6 8 Braid is an 8-carrier braid engineered specifically for lure fishing, combining premium Japanese UHMPE (Ultra High Molecular Polyethylene) fibres with advanced construction and coating technologies to deliver a line that casts further, lasts longer, and holds its colour session after session.

Advanced High PIC Construction for Strength and Smoothness

The W6 is built using Westin's proprietary "Advanced High PIC" weave — 36 weaves per inch across 8 carriers — producing a notably round profile that is strong for its 0.205 mm diameter. The tight weave generates a smooth surface that reduces guide friction, which translates directly into longer, more accurate casts even with lighter lures. The rounded profile also makes it easy to handle and helps prevent dig-in on the spool.

Dura-Coating for Water Repellence and Colour Stability

After weaving, the W6 is treated with a Dura-Coating gel process that bonds a hydrophobic layer to the braid's surface. This reduces water absorption and lowers friction through the rod rings, keeping casting performance consistent throughout the session. To lock in the Lime Punch colour, the line is soaked in dye tanks and oven-cured before a final Dura-Coat seal is applied — so the colour stays vivid and visible on the water even after extended use.
