Premium Japanese UHMPE (Ultra High Molecular Polyethylene) fibers and a Double Dura-Coating deliver the stiffness, smoothness, and colour durability that demanding coastal sessions require.

Double Dura-Coating: Fewer Wind Knots, Longer Casts

The Double Dura-Coating gel process is the defining feature of the W3 Smokey Grey. It adds rigidity to the line, reducing the wind knots that plague repeated overhead casting in gusty conditions. At the same time the hydrophobic surface sheds water efficiently, cuts friction through the guides, and helps the line shoot further and land with greater accuracy.

32-Weave Construction for Strength and Smoothness

Built from 8 carriers of premium Japanese UHMPE fibers woven at 32 weaves per inch, the W3 achieves a tight, round profile with excellent abrasion resistance — an asset when working the line over rough surf-zone stones or estuary snags. Colour stability is locked in by soaking in dye tanks, oven-curing the pigment, and then sealing the finished braid under a double gel-coat for long-lasting colour.
