VMC 7243 Redentex Back+ Hook - Einzelhaken
incl. VAT, excl.
The VMC 7243 Redentex Back+ Hook is a heavy-duty single hook engineered for slow-trolling with livebait in saltwater — specifically designed as the mirror-image rear hook that sits on the back of the baitfish for maximum bite conversion on powerful, hard-running predators.
The Locking Curve geometry is the defining feature of this hook. Its swept profile encourages the point to rotate and find purchase the moment a fish closes its mouth, turning tentative takes into solid hook-sets — critical when targeting fast-moving offshore species like amberjack and large snapper.
Constructed from high-grade vanadium steel and finished with a Coastal PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) coating, this hook is built to resist saltwater corrosion session after session. The coating also preserves the long needle-sharp point for extended periods, reducing the need for frequent replacements. A resin closed eye secures the hook firmly to the baitfish, while a red dot on the shank adds a subtle visual stimulus that can trigger strikes.
All variants share the same Locking Curve shape, Coastal PTFE coating, vanadium steel construction, and needle-sharp point. Select by hook size to match your target species and baitfish size:
3/0 — 6 pieces: Smaller baitfish presentations; lighter inshore or nearshore species
4/0 — 5 pieces: Mid-range baitfish; versatile nearshore and light offshore use
5/0 — 4 pieces: Larger baits; medium-weight offshore predators
6/0 — 3 pieces: Large livebait; amberjack, large snapper, and other powerful open-water species — current product
7/0 — 3 pieces: Extra-large baitfish; the heaviest offshore targets
