The Hornet earns its reputation by working in virtually any water type. In rivers, retrieve it slowly upstream against the current or faster downstream with it — short pauses near likely holding spots frequently trigger strikes. In still water, it performs equally well when cast and retrieved or trolled, with short rod-tip accelerations during trolling often coaxing bonus bites. The action transmits clearly through the rod, giving you direct feedback throughout the retrieve.
