Hornet Sinking 5cm Trout
incl. VAT, excl.
The Salmo Hornet Sinking in 5 cm delivers the fast-twitch, rod-vibrating action that has earned it recognition from In-Fisherman Magazine as one of the greatest walleye crankbaits of all time. Hand crafted in Poland, tank tested, and individually tuned, this crankbait excels on pike, perch, zander, and trout across rivers, lakes, and reservoirs.
Constructed from proprietary High Density Space-Aged Foam (HDSF) with a similar specific gravity to balsa, the Hornet resists pike teeth, absorbs no water, and maintains its precise wobble year after year. The unbreakable polycarbonate lip and thru-wire construction welded at both ends ensure hooks stay locked during explosive strikes and hard fights.
The Sinking variant reaches 3–4 m depth, making it ideal for probing mid-depth structure, thermoclines, and drop-offs where predators ambush baitfish. The 8 g weight allows long casts and fast descent to the strike zone, while the tight wobble and natural Trout colour pattern trigger instinctive attacks from hungry fish.
The Hornet Sinking series spans micro-finesse to big-bait applications. Match your target species, water depth, and casting distance:
2.5 cm / 1.5 g / 0.5–1.0 m — ultra-light rods, shallow streams, small trout, perch, chub
3.5 cm / 2.6 g / 1.0–2.6 m — finesse spinning, clear water, trout, perch, asp
4 cm / 4 g / 2–2.5 m — light jigging rods, medium-depth zones, perch, zander, bass
5 cm / 8 g / 3–4 m — all-round casting, deeper structure, walleye, zander, pike, large trout (Trout colour)
6 cm — big-bait setups, trophy pike, large zander, deep trolling
