The FTM Steckpiloten (plug-in pilot float) is a compact, reusable trout float designed for precise depth control and subtle bite detection — so the trout feels no resistance when it takes the bait.
At the heart of the Steckpilot is a removable plastic stem fixed through the body of the float. Using silicone tubing, the float attaches directly to your main line or trout leader. This sliding setup means the trout can take the bait without feeling any pull from the float — resulting in more confident takes and fewer missed bites.
Because the pilot float slides freely along the line, you can dial in your fishing depth or adjust leader length on the fly — no re-rigging required. The durable plastic construction means this float can be used session after session, and the bright red colour makes it easy to spot at distance on open water.
