STAINLESS STEEL 49-STRAND WIRE 5M 0.27MM 6KG/13LBS BROWN
incl. VAT, excl.
The Westin Stainless Steel 49-Strand Wire delivers a rare combination of supple handling and reliable bite resistance — ideal for anglers who build their own traces, stingers, and rigs.
Without any coating, this wire transmits vibrations and resistance directly to your fingertips and rod tip. Even a half-hearted take from a cautious pike or perch registers clearly, giving you a decisive edge when fish are finicky.
The 7×7 braid — 49 individual strands of stainless high carbon steel — produces a wire that is genuinely soft and easy to work with. You can tie standard knots or use crimps; the wire seats cleanly either way. The matte brown finish blends naturally in tannin-stained and weedy water. At 0.27 mm and 6 kg breaking strength, this is the lightest option in the range, well suited to finesse trace applications and smaller predator species.
All five spools come in the same matte brown colour on a 5 m length, so the choice comes down to target species and rig weight.
0.27 mm / 6 kg — perch, zander, smaller pike; finesse stingers and drop-shot rigs; light spinning setups
0.36 mm / 14 kg — all-round pike traces; medium jerkbait and crankbait rigs
0.45 mm / 17 kg — larger pike; heavier lure rigs; live- and deadbait setups
0.54 mm / 24 kg — trophy pike and big catfish; robust multi-hook rigs
0.63 mm / 34 kg — heavy catfish and saltwater predators; demanding big-bait rigs
