The 2500HG and C3000HG use 6.2:1 gearing instead of 5.2:1 and recover 88 and 93 cm per turn, respectively. That is 15 cm more than the corresponding standard model, without changing weight, capacity or maximum drag. Choose HG for faster line recovery and the standard model for less line recovery at the same handle cadence. The C5000HG also uses 6.2:1 gearing and recovers 105 cm per turn.
At 0.16 mm, the C2000 holds 150 m and both 2500 models hold 230 m. Both C3000 models hold 150 m of 0.23 mm mono. At 0.25 mm, the 4000 holds 190 m and the C5000HG holds 330 m. The 1000 holds 200 m at 0.12 mm. Compare capacities at the diameter you intend to use, as metre figures at different diameters are not directly equivalent.
Yes, every model supports right- or left-hand handle positioning. The 1000 and C2000 have rubberised paddle knobs, sizes 2500 through 4000 have rubberised T-grip knobs, and the C5000HG has a metal/rubberised power knob. You can choose your preferred retrieve hand on any model, while the grip shape changes with size.
The family is intended for freshwater and inshore spinning, and the 4000 is explicitly offered for zander and pike. The range spans 185–290 g and 2.7–6.8 kg maximum drag. Choose by the weight, mono capacity and recovery rate needed for your setup rather than treating all eight models as equivalent.

The Savage Gear FAZOR is a spinning reel for freshwater and inshore lure fishing. Its carbon-reinforced composite (CRC) body and rotor combine low weight with durability, while patented stainless steel Precision Cut Gearing provides a smooth retrieve. The sealed 7+1 stainless steel bearing system and one-piece SST handle reduce play during retrieval. Instant Anti-Reverse prevents backward rotation, and the handle can be fitted for right- or left-hand use. The handle is CNC machined as one piece for strength.
The aluminium spool has a Tapered Spool Lip Design intended to increase casting distance and reduce wind knots. Duragrease and Duraoil support smooth operation of the gears and drag. All variants have a grey finish.
The patented carbon drag washer system allows fine adjustment during a fight. Friction Control System Carbon Drag washers with Hydro Sealed HS-Drag provide smooth, durable line release. Maximum drag varies from 2.7 to 6.8 kg, so compare this alongside line capacity rather than selecting by reel size alone.

The 1000 is the lightest option. The C2000 adds maximum drag and capacity for thicker mono with only 5 g more weight. Both have rubberised paddle knobs. The 2500 models add capacity at 0.16 mm, while the C3000 models hold 0.23 mm mono and offer more maximum drag for another 5 g. Sizes 2500 through 4000 have rubberised T-grip knobs.
Choose the 2500HG or C3000HG when faster line recovery matters. Each retrieves 15 cm more per turn than its corresponding 5.2:1 version, with the same weight, capacity and maximum drag. The standard versions recover less line per turn for a slower retrieve at the same handle cadence.
The 4000 is explicitly offered for zander and pike fishing. Compared with the C3000 models, it adds capacity for thicker mono but weighs 40 g more and retains the same maximum drag. The C5000HG provides the greatest capacity, fastest recovery and highest maximum drag in the family, at the highest weight. Its metal/rubberised power knob differs from the smaller models' grips.
