Choose HG for faster line pickup. The 2500HG retrieves 88 cm per turn instead of the 2500's 73 cm, and C3000HG retrieves 93 cm instead of C3000's 78 cm. Each pair has the same capacity, drag rating and weight, so you can choose speed without changing those specifications.
The 4000 holds 190 m of 0.25 mm mono, retrieves 86 cm per turn and has 5.4 kg max drag at 275 g. C5000HG holds 330 m at the same diameter, retrieves 105 cm and has 6.8 kg max drag at 290 g. Choose between the 4000's lower weight and C5000HG's greater capacity, drag rating and pickup.
Yes, every version allows right- or left-side handle mounting. The 1000 and C2000 have rubberized paddle knobs, sizes 2500 to 4000 have rubberized T-grips, and C5000HG has a metal/rubberized power knob. Choose the size for its specifications and check that its grip shape suits you.
All sizes combine Precision Cut Gearing, sealed 7+1 stainless steel bearings and a one-piece SST handle to reduce play. The Friction Control System carbon washers with Hydro Sealed HS-Drag provide finely adjustable line release. Check the variant's 2.7 to 6.8 kg maximum drag rating when comparing sizes, rather than assuming every size has the same limit.
No, the supplier describes the family for freshwater and inshore fishing. It has sealed stainless steel bearings and Hydro Sealed HS-Drag, but those component descriptions do not establish that the whole reel is submersible. Choose the version by its line capacity and drag rating for your setup.

The Savage Gear Fazor is a front-drag spinning reel for lure fishing in freshwater and inshore waters. Its patented stainless steel Precision Cut Gearing and Carbon Reinforced Composite (CRC) body and rotor combine smooth running with a light, durable construction. Sizes from 1000 to C5000HG offer different line capacities, drag ratings and retrieve speeds, so the choice depends on the line and retrieve you need.
A sealed 7+1 stainless steel bearing system and a CNC-machined, one-piece SST handle reduce play during winding. Instant Anti-Reverse prevents backward rotation, while the handle can be fitted on the right or left to suit your preferred winding hand.
The aluminum spool has a Tapered Spool Lip Design intended to support casting distance and reduce wind knots. The Friction Control System uses patented carbon drag fiber washers with Hydro Sealed HS-Drag for smooth, durable and finely adjustable line release during a fight. Duragrease and Duraoil support smooth operation of the drag and gears.
All standard versions have a 5.2:1 gear ratio. The HG versions have a 6.2:1 ratio and retrieve more line per turn than their corresponding standard versions. Choose HG when faster line pickup matters, or compare the standard versions for a slower retrieve at the same handle speed. The table lists monofilament capacity and retrieve per handle turn.
Version | Ratio | Retrieve | Mono capacity | Max drag | Reel weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1000 | 5.2:1 | 65 cm | 200 m / 0.12 mm | 2.7 kg | |
C2000 | 5.2:1 | 69 cm | 150 m / 0.16 mm | 4.1 kg | 190 g |
2500 | 5.2:1 | 73 cm | 230 m / 0.16 mm | 4.5 kg | 230 g |
2500HG | 6.2:1 | 88 cm | 230 m / 0.16 mm | 4.5 kg | 230 g |
C3000 | 5.2:1 | 78 cm | 150 m / 0.23 mm | 5.4 kg | 235 g |
C3000HG | 6.2:1 | 93 cm | 150 m / 0.23 mm | 5.4 kg | 235 g |
4000 | 5.2:1 | 86 cm | 190 m / 0.25 mm | 5.4 kg | 275 g |
C5000HG | 6.2:1 | 105 cm | 330 m / 0.25 mm | 6.8 kg | 290 g |
The 1000 carries 0.12 mm mono, while C2000 and 2500 offer different capacities at 0.16 mm. The 2500 and C3000 pairs keep the same capacity, drag rating and weight within each size, so changing to HG changes retrieve speed without changing those specifications. The 4000 provides capacity at 0.25 mm and is explicitly described for zander and pike fishing. C5000HG has the family's highest listed line capacity, drag rating and line pickup, at a higher weight than the 4000. Compare capacity at the stated diameter rather than comparing spool length alone.
The 1000 and C2000 have rubberized paddle knobs. The 2500 through 4000 versions use rubberized T-grips, while C5000HG has a metal/rubberized power knob. These differences give you a choice of grip shape as well as retrieve speed and line capacity. Every version is grey.
