The Savage Gear Fazor spinning reel series combines patented precision engineering with a lightweight carbon-reinforced composite (CRC) body, delivering a workhorse reel that performs well beyond its price class. Available in sizes 1000 to C5000HG, the range covers everything from ultralight finesse fishing to heavy predator spinning.
At the heart of each Fazor sits a patented stainless steel Precision Cut Gear system. The precisely machined gearing provides an exceptionally smooth gear feel under load, reducing fatigue during long sessions. Gear ratios range from 5.2:1 for steady retrieve power up to 6.2:1 on HG (High Gear) models for faster line pick-up.
The Friction Control System uses carbon fibre drag washers paired with Hydro Sealed (HS-Drag) technology. This combination delivers a smooth, consistent drag that can be fine-tuned precisely — essential when fighting powerful freshwater predators. Maximum drag ranges from 2.7 kg on the compact 1000 up to 6.8 kg on the C5000HG.
The Carbon Reinforced Composite body and rotor keep overall weight remarkably low — starting at just 185 g for the 1000 size. Despite the low weight, the CRC construction provides excellent rigidity and long-term durability.
All models feature seven sealed stainless steel ball bearings plus one roller bearing, delivering smooth operation and reliable corrosion resistance. Duragrease and Duraoil are applied to gears and drag for lasting smoothness.
The aluminium spool features a tapered lip that promotes maximum casting distance while reducing the risk of wind knots — a practical advantage when fishing in breezy conditions.
Every Fazor is equipped with a CNC-machined one-piece SST handle that eliminates play. Sizes 1000–2000 feature a rubberised paddle knob, sizes 2500–4000 a rubberised T-handle, and the C5000HG a unique metal/rubberised power knob.
