The Balzer Trout Attack Bodentaster is a purpose-built bottom indicator sinker designed for trout fishing at stocked ponds and lakes. Its clever wood-and-metal construction gives you a natural, sensitivity-first presentation with every cast.
Once your rig hits the lake bed, the ball sinker settles firmly into the sediment while the wooden shaft stands upright above the bottom. This vertical position means buoyant or rising baits can be presented naturally in the water column directly above the weight — ideal when fish are feeding just off the deck.
The metal eye fitted to the top of the shaft lets your mainline run freely through it, just like a running leger. When a trout picks up the bait and moves off, it can take line without feeling any resistance from the sinker — giving the fish time to commit, and you a clean strike window.
