Balzer Matzes Auftriebssystem - Köderfischmontage zum Grundangeln
incl. VAT, excl.
The Balzer Matzes Auftriebssystem (buoyancy system) is a purpose-built deadbait rig that positions a dead baitfish head-down just above the riverbed, mimicking a natural bottom-feeding prey fish to trigger predatory pike.
A wooden insert rod is pushed into the baitfish, causing it to stand head-down on the bottom. This lifelike posture imitates a foraging prey fish and can be the difference between a blank session and a decisive strike from a cautious pike.
The rig pairs excellently with a side lead or running lead setup, making it effective in light current as well as stillwater venues. Its passive fishing style suits anglers who want to let the bait do the work and wait out trophy fish.
Three hook sizes cover the full range of common baitfish sizes. Match the hook to the baitfish you're using and the pike you're targeting.
Size 6 / S (small) — best with small baitfish (8–12 cm); suited to waters with smaller pike or where compact presentations are needed
Size 4 / M (medium) — Drilling (treble hook) — current product — versatile all-round choice for medium baitfish (12–18 cm); ideal for most pike venues in light current or stillwater
Size 2 / L (large) — designed for larger baitfish (18–25 cm); targets big pike in rivers or large lakes where a substantial presentation is required
