The WFT Penzill Strong Fluorocarbon is available in six variants: 0.18mm (2.5kg), 0.20mm (3.1kg), 0.25mm (5.9kg), 0.28mm (6.6kg), 0.30mm (7.3kg), and 0.35mm (11.1kg). Each spool contains 100m of line.
Fluorocarbon is ideal for clear water situations, shy fish, and spin fishing applications. Its near-invisibility underwater and superior abrasion resistance make it perfect for rocky structures, around pike, and when using small to medium baits.
Light grades (0.18–0.20mm) suit small baits and cautious fish like trout. Medium grades (0.25–0.28mm) work well for mixed predator fishing with perch and barsch. Heavy grades (0.30–0.35mm) handle pike and aggressive fish. The included breaking strain guides your choice.
The WFT Penzill Strong formula balances stiffness with knottability. While it is stiffer than monofilament, its designed flexibility allows reliable knot-tying. Always use a tested knot for fluorocarbon (e.g., Albright or Clinch) and moisten the line before cinching.
The controlled stiffness reduces casting tangles and minimizes snagging when your lure hits structure. It also helps the line stay straight underwater for better feel and bite detection. This stiffness works in your favor during the cast and reduces frustration with snags.
WFT Penzill Strong Fluorocarbon is formulated for freshwater use. While fluorocarbon resists salt corrosion better than monofilament, WFT does not explicitly recommend this line for regular saltwater use. Always rinse thoroughly if exposure occurs.

This premium fluorocarbon leader line is engineered for demanding spin and bait fishing applications. Built with exceptional abrasion resistance and knot strength, it excels when targeting pike (Hecht), perch (Barsch), trout (Forelle), and other predatory fish species.
The material features controlled stiffness that minimizes casting tangles and reduces snagging risk, while remaining supple enough to tie secure knots and allow small lures natural movement. Fluorocarbon's near-invisibility underwater makes it particularly effective in clear water or when fish are wary.
High-quality fluorocarbon construction resists abrasion from rough environments and provides superior knot strength for reliable connections. The material's inherent rigidity works to your advantage during the cast, then forgives imperfect knot-tying without sacrificing strength.
Each 100m spool is available in six diameter/breaking strain combinations, from ultra-light (0.18mm) for delicate presentations to heavy (0.35mm) for larger baits and aggressive fish.
