Built for offshore fishing in demanding northern waters, the WFT 68° North Comfort Butt LTC (Long Transport Compact) boat rod combines a stiff, powerful carbon blank with an ergonomic grip system that makes long jigging sessions and hard-fighting fish manageable from the boat.
The short distance between the reel seat and the cross-end butt lets you rest the rod comfortably against your forearm during jigging strokes or when fighting a fish. The removable Comfort Butt end cap can be detached in seconds when a big fish bites, allowing the cross-end to be inserted straight into a fighting belt for maximum leverage. A safety lanyard with carabiner on the cap prevents it from going overboard when you pull it off quickly.
The slim carbon fibre blank has a strong backbone with enough power reserve to subdue even a large halibut. SIC (Seaguide/Fuji SiC) ring inserts are set in stainless steel frames with deep-seated inlays that protect the rings from knocks and drops — essential on a working boat deck. The long front foam grip lets you find your preferred hand position whether you are jigging, fishing with natural bait, or fighting a cod, halibut, coalfish, or ling.
The 68° North Comfort Butt LTC is available in two casting-weight versions at the same 2.10 m length. Choose based on target species and jig/sinker weight:
