The ST3 rating represents medium stiffness, offering balanced sensitivity and knot strength. ST1 is stiffer for precision casting, while ST5 is more flexible for handling. ST3 is ideal for most predatory fish applications.
Fluorocarbon has a lower refractive index than water, making it nearly invisible to fish underwater. It also offers superior abrasion resistance and sinking properties compared to monofilament.
Choose based on your target fish size: 0.14–0.26mm for trout and small predators; 0.30–0.62mm for medium pike and perch; 0.92–1.20mm for large pike and catfish. Higher breaking strain accommodates larger baits and aggressive species.
Shorter spools (20–25m) are ideal for single-rig setups or as main line topshots. Longer spools (35–50m) provide backup material and work well for multi-rig systems or when using on spinning reels.
While W6 ST3 is optimized for freshwater predatory fish, fluorocarbon's inherent durability and invisibility make it usable in low-salinity brackish waters. For pure saltwater applications, consult our saltwater-specific product line.
Store in a cool, dark, and dry place away from direct sunlight and UV exposure. Fluorocarbon can become brittle over time if exposed to UV light. Keep spools sealed in their original packaging when not in use.

Fluorocarbon leaders can be engineered with a varying degree of suppleness, rated ST1 to ST5, to perfectly match the fishing style and prevailing conditions. A fluorocarbon line with an ST1 rating is designed to offer maximum stiffness, providing excellent sensitivity and optimal control for precision casting and hook-setting. At the other end of the spectrum a fluorocarbon line with an ST5 rating is engineered for maximum flexibility, allowing for increased knot strength and durability. Whether you need a stiff fluorocarbon line for finesse presentations or a supple line for improved handling, our range of lines with different ST ratings has you covered. W6 ST3 Fluorocarbon delivers maximum impact and knot strength, all with a small diameter. Fast-sinking line that gets you in the "strike zone" quicker - and with a lower refractive index than monofilament line, it is significantly less visible underwater. W6 ST3 fluorocarbon is offered in diameters from 0.14mm to 1.20mm. Fast sinking Exceptional knot and tensile strength 100% Fluorocarbon Medium stifness * High knot strength
