Choose the 51 or 101 for light softbaits and crankbaits. Both have 5.5 kg drag and 66 cm retrieve per turn, but the 51 holds 120 m of 0.25 mm line at 186 g, while the 101 holds 135 m of 0.285 mm line at 195 g. For larger softbaits and hardbaits, the 250 g 301 offers 9 kg drag and 230 m of 0.30 mm line, trading more weight for greater capacity and drag force.
All three models in this selection are left-hand retrieve versions, marked LH by Westin. Their handle is on the left, so choose one only if you want to wind with your left hand.
The six-shoe CBS6 centrifugal brake controls spool speed during casting. The Multi Teflon Stack drag controls line release under load and has a drag clicker. Maximum drag is 5.5 kg on the 51 and 101, or 9 kg on the 301, so casting control is shared while fighting-drag capacity differs.

The Westin W4-BC baitcasting reels combine a one-piece aluminium frame with CBS6 internal centrifugal braking to control the spool during casting. This selection comprises the left-hand 51 SSG, 101 SSG and 301 SSG models in Metallic Trooper. The series is designed for predator fishing, including pike, perch, zander, bass and trout, with model choice determining the appropriate lure size and line capacity.
The 51 SSG and 101 SSG suit light softbaits and crankbaits. Both have 6.6:1 gearing, retrieve 66 cm of line per handle turn and offer 5.5 kg maximum drag. The 51 weighs 186 g and holds 120 m of 0.25 mm line. The 101 weighs 195 g and holds 135 m of 0.285 mm line, giving more capacity for thicker line with a small increase in reel weight. Both combine an aluminium frame with a carbon sideplate.
The 301 SSG is the choice for larger softbaits and hardbaits. It weighs 250 g, has a full aluminium frame and offers 9 kg maximum drag with capacity for 230 m of 0.30 mm line. Its 5.6:1 gearing has a lower ratio than the smaller models, but line retrieve is 70 cm per turn. Choose it for the greater line capacity and drag force, accepting the higher weight.

The Stay-On Sideplate and Stay-On Tension knob remain attached when opened or adjusted, helping keep these parts with the reel during handling. The proprietary Fast Line Connector on the spool assists line attachment, and Line View is also included. All three versions have the handle on the left, so retrieve-hand preference is fixed within this selection.
All models use 7+1 sealed stainless steel ball bearings, a stainless steel shaft and GT-B gearing for the retrieve mechanism. A CNC handle with non-slip rubber knobs provides grip while winding. The Multi Teflon Stack drag controls line release under load, while the drag clicker gives audible feedback. This fighting drag is separate from the centrifugal casting brake.
Each reel is supplied in a protective hard case for storage and transport. The reels are lubricated with three different types of grease.
