Its main use is coastal spinning for sea trout, with Atlantic salmon and garfish also named by the suppliers. The Baltic Sea, North Sea and Scandinavian coastlines are listed, so this is a coastal casting spoon rather than a dedicated deep-sea jig.
Weights are 12, 16, 20 and 24 g. Where a length is explicitly listed, the corresponding lengths are 8.5, 9.5, 10 and 11 cm. These versions increase in both casting load and prey profile. Match the stated weight to your rod, and use only the selected variant's length specification because some listings give weight alone.
Yes, the supplier describes the slim body as suitable for long, accurate casts even in strong wind. It can also be fished close in, so you can cover nearby water and farther-out fish with the same lure. No measured casting distance is supplied.
You receive one spoon in the selected version with a hook mounted through two split rings. The rings reduce leverage during the fight, helping stop fish shaking the hook free. Westin describes Japanese-style carbon-steel hooks, and the supplier specifies VMC 9649. An exact hook size is not reliably mapped to each variant, so do not select a version by an assumed hook size.
No, Westin lists several colors with these finishes within the range, not the same finish for every color. Choose by the exact variant name, such as Motoroil UV or Pearl Ghost. A finish-specific lighting or water-clarity recommendation is not supplied.

Westin SØLVPILEN is a slim spoon for coastal spinning for sea trout, with Atlantic salmon and garfish also named as target species. Its narrow profile supports long, accurate casts even in strong wind, so it can cover both nearby water and fish holding farther offshore. The lead-free zinc body imitates sand eels, a useful presentation when predators are feeding on these slender prey fish.
The supplier identifies the Baltic Sea, North Sea and other coastlines, including Denmark, Sweden and Norway, as fishing areas. Two split rings between the body and hook reduce leverage during the fight, helping limit the fish's ability to shake the hook free. Westin describes Japanese-style carbon-steel hooks, and supplier listings specify the VMC 9649 model. The mounted hook and double split rings are supplied with the spoon.
The family offers 12, 16, 20 and 24 g versions. Listings that specify body length pair 12 g with 8.5 cm, 16 g with 9.5 cm, 20 g with 10 cm and 24 g with 11 cm. Where no length is supplied, choose by the stated weight and color rather than assuming a length from another variant. Use the lower weights for a lighter casting load and the higher weights for a heavier one, within your rod's lure-weight rating. In the length-specified range, stepping up also means a larger prey profile.
Colors include Chartreuse Diamond, Blue Diamond, Copper Diamond, Pearl Ghost, Pink Prism and Smoked Chrome, alongside UV-named and other finishes. Westin lists UV, FluoMax and MetalPlated colors within the range, not on every version. Choose the exact color name on the selected variant. The family is described as realistically hand-painted and designed and developed in Scandinavia. Each purchase contains one spoon in the chosen version.
