It is intended for perch, bass, pike and trout in shallow water. Its 0.3–0.8 m running depth suits small ponds, canals and streams, including retrieves above submerged timber and weed beds. Choose it for the upper water layers rather than a deep-running presentation.
No, both sizes have a stated running depth of 0.3–0.8 m. The difference is the profile and weight: 5.5 cm at 8 g or 8 cm at 24 g. Choose the smaller or larger presentation and match the lure weight to your tackle rather than choosing by depth.
The floating FatBite rises quickly towards the surface rather than suspending at its running depth. Use spin-stops to interrupt its rolling and shaking action, then restart the retrieve to resume that movement.
Each size is available in Blueback Herring, Natural Pike, Fire Perch, Firetiger, Bling Perch, Mean Machine, Baby Zander and Striped Redhead. You receive one lure with carbon steel hooks in the selected size and finish, so choose the individual colour you want rather than expecting an assortment.

The Westin FatBite is a floating crankbait for spinning for perch, bass, pike and trout in shallow water. Its compact, broad body produces pronounced rolling and shaking movements, while internal Ultra Sonic rattle balls add sound to the lure's vibrations. It runs at 0.3–0.8 m, keeping the presentation in the upper water layers.
The FatBite suits shallow waters, small ponds, canals and streams, including presentations above submerged timber and weed beds. Interrupt the retrieve with a spin-stop. The lure rises quickly towards the surface during the pause, then resumes its action when you start winding again. Its floating behaviour offers a rising presentation rather than holding it at a fixed depth during pauses.
Both sizes share the same stated running depth. The 5.5 cm version weighs 8 g and offers a smaller, lighter presentation. The 8 cm version weighs 24 g and has a larger profile, so choose by the lure size you want to present and the weight your tackle accommodates, not by a deeper running depth.
Both sizes are available in Blueback Herring, Natural Pike, Fire Perch, Firetiger, Bling Perch, Mean Machine, Baby Zander and Striped Redhead. The colours are hand-painted with detailed finishes. Select the size and named finish separately, as the finish name identifies the colour pattern rather than the target species.
The lead-free body is made from ABS plastic and comes with Japanese-style carbon steel hooks. Westin lists hook sizes #8 / #2 across the family. One lure in the selected size and finish is supplied, not a mixed colour set.
