The SGS2 rods are designed for spinning reels sized 2500–3000 for the lighter variants and 3000–4000 for the heavier ones. Match your reel size to the rod's casting weight and your target fish species. A quality spinning reel with smooth drag and good line capacity will complement these rods perfectly.
While the SGS2 is optimised for saltwater sea bass fishing with its saltwater-rated guides and sealing, the rods can absolutely be used in freshwater. They're excellent for targeting pike, perch, or large trout. After any saltwater use, rinse the rod with fresh water to maintain the reel seat and guides in top condition.
