The Alpha SG8 Monster Bait BC series is built for anglers who fish oversized lures for pike and need a casting rod with real backbone, fast recovery and precise lure control. Across the range, Savage Gear combines light yet responsive blanks with premium Fuji components for long sessions with heavy baits.
These rods are designed for large lure fishing in freshwater, with casting weights from 42-140g up to 180-650g. The fast to moderate fast actions help cast heavy baits cleanly, work them with control and maintain solid hook-setting power.
The SG8 Alpha Monster range uses high-end Japanese Toray/Torayca carbon blank material with 4X Wrap V2 carbon technology and Reset Accelerator Technology. This gives each rod a crisp, responsive feel while keeping enough forgiveness to stay in control during the fight.
Every variant features a Fuji reel seat, Fuji SiC guides and a Duragrip STC handle material. The rods are supplied as 2-piece models and come with a neoprene rod bag for transport and storage.
The shorter and lighter-rated models suit anglers who want to cast large softbaits and hardbaits with less overall weight. The longer, heavier-rated versions give more leverage and headroom for truly oversized pike lures and demanding big bait fishing.
