The Alpha SG2 Monster BC series is a freshwater casting rod range for anglers who fish large swimbaits and need a blank with real lifting power. Across the range, Savage Gear combines a progressive carbon blank with a strong backbone, secure reel seating and durable guides for controlled casting and solid hooksets.

Progressive power for big lures

These rods are designed around a reinforced 24T + 30T high modulus carbon blank. The action is listed as moderate fast, giving enough flex to work larger lures while keeping the reserve power needed for hard strikes and strong fish.

Built for demanding predator fishing

SeaGuide CCS stainless steel guides with SiN rings help the line run cleanly under load, while the Double Lock reel seat keeps the reel fixed in place during repeated casting and heavy retrieves. The full grip handle supports two-handed casting with larger baits.

Variant choice

The 2.21 m models are the more compact options for close-control work and shorter rod handling. The 2.59 m models give extra casting reach and line control. Choose the lower lure ratings for heavy but more versatile swimbait work, and move up to the 110-220 g or 150-300 g versions when your lure size and overall load increase.
