Choose by line capacity, weight and maximum drag. LBXT-630 is 232 g with 3 kg drag, LBXT-640 is 283 g with 6 kg, LBXT-655 is 403 g with 9 kg and LBXT-665 is 586 g with 11 kg. Capacity increases through the range, so more line reserve comes with greater reel weight. Match the capacity table to your line diameter and required reserve.
Yes. Every model includes a spare graphite spool alongside its machined, anodized aluminium main spool. You can prepare a second line setup. For additional spools, use the model-specific LBXT-630-SPOOL, LBXT-640-SPOOL, LBXT-655-SPOOL or LBXT-665-SPOOL code to check compatibility.
LBXT-665 retrieves 91.4 cm per turn, followed by LBXT-655 at 76.2 cm, LBXT-640 at 73.7 cm and LBXT-630 at 63.5 cm. Compare these figures rather than gear ratio alone when line recovery matters. LBXT-665 provides the most recovery per turn but also weighs the most at 586 g.
Inspect the drag, handle, spool and line guide before each use and clean the reel regularly with a soft cloth, especially after saltwater exposure. The graphite body is corrosion-resistant, but the supplier still requires cleaning and dry storage. Follow the manufacturer's maintenance instructions and do not fish with damaged components.

The Okuma LONGBOW XT family comprises front-drag fixed-spool reels with an on/off auto-trip bait feeding system. The freespool function lets a fish take line before you engage the main drag, useful for stationary bait fishing. Supplier applications include carp fishing across the range, with eel and feeder use also listed for LBXT-630 and LBXT-640. Pike is listed for all four models, and zander for LBXT-630, LBXT-640 and LBXT-655.
The 5+1BB (ball bearing) drive system supports smooth winding, while Precision Elliptical Gearing and the RESII computer-balanced Rotor Equalizing System support even operation. A Multi-Stop anti-reverse system limits backward rotation. The LCS (Line Control System) spool is designed to improve casting, and the metal line clip lets you retain a line position. The main front drag uses multiple oiled felt discs to control line release under load.
The corrosion-resistant graphite body is paired with graphite sideplates and rotor. The machined, anodized aluminium main spool and aluminium bail provide metal components at the line-handling points. LBXT-630 is the lightest option, with the lowest capacity and drag. LBXT-640 adds line reserve, twice the maximum drag and faster line recovery for 51 g more weight. LBXT-655 and LBXT-665 are explicitly described for carp fishing. LBXT-655 offers more reserve for thicker line than the smaller models, while LBXT-665 has the greatest capacity, drag and retrieve per turn but is also the heaviest. The lower ratio of LBXT-655 does not mean less line recovery than LBXT-640, so compare retrieve figures as well as ratios.
Check compatibility with your rod, line and fishing method, secure the reel firmly and inspect the drag, handle, spool and line guide before use. Do not use a damaged reel or modify it. Keep fingers, hair and clothing clear of moving parts and avoid excessive line tension.
