It lets a fish take line before the front drag is engaged, which suits bait fishing for the stated species, carp, tench, eel and pike. The main drag uses oiled felt discs, so compare its maximum setting and the model's line capacity with your intended setup.
The CMBF-330 weighs 232 g with 3 kg maximum drag and 5.0:1 gearing. The CMBF-340 has 283 g, 6 kg and 5.0:1, the CMBF-355 has 403 g, 9 kg and 4.5:1, and the CMBF-365 has 586 g, 11 kg and 4.8:1. Capacity increases across the range, so choose the required line diameter and length first, then weigh the extra capacity and drag against the added reel weight.
Yes. Each reel comes with a machined, anodized aluminium main spool with quick release and an extra graphite spool. You can keep a second line ready on the spare rather than removing the line from the main spool.
Check the drag, handle, spool and line guide for damage and correct operation. The graphite body is corrosion-resistant, but the supplier still requires regular cleaning, particularly after saltwater exposure. Use a soft cloth, follow the manufacturer's maintenance instructions and store the reel dry rather than relying on the body material alone.

The Okuma Ceymar Baitfeeder is a fixed-spool reel with front drag and a freespool function for bait fishing for carp, tench, eel and pike. The freespool lets a fish take line before you engage the main drag. Four CMBF models offer different line capacities, weights and maximum drag settings, so you can choose around your line diameter and rod setup.
The multi-disc front drag uses oiled felt washers to control line release under load. The 2+1 bearing system includes a Quick-Set anti-reverse roller bearing to prevent backward winding. A precision-machined brass pinion and Precision Elliptical Gearing system form the drive, while RESII (Rotor Equalizing System) uses a computer-balanced rotor to reduce vibration when winding.
The machined, anodized aluminium spool has a quick-release fitting. The LCS (Line Control Spool) design supports line control during casting, and a metal line clip provides a place to secure the line. An extra graphite spool is included, allowing you to keep a second line ready without stripping the main spool.
The corrosion-resistant graphite construction covers the body, sideplates and rotor. The handle and bail are aluminium, the handle is anodized, and the lightweight handle knob is ABS plastic.
Choose by the capacity at your intended line diameter, then compare weight and maximum drag with your setup. The CMBF-330 is the lightest option. The CMBF-340 adds line capacity and maximum drag at a modest weight increase. The CMBF-355 and CMBF-365 hold more of the thicker listed lines, but weigh more. Maximum drag is a reel specification, not a fish-weight rating.
Model | Weight | Gear ratio | Maximum drag | Line capacity, diameter / length |
|---|---|---|---|---|
CMBF-330 | 232 g | 5.0:1 | 3 kg | 0.20 mm / 240 m, 0.25 mm / 155 m, 0.30 mm / 110 m |
CMBF-340 | 283 g | 5.0:1 | 6 kg | 0.25 mm / 300 m, 0.30 mm / 210 m, 0.35 mm / 155 m |
CMBF-355 | 403 g | 4.5:1 | 9 kg | 0.30 mm / 380 m, 0.35 mm / 280 m, 0.40 mm / 215 m |
CMBF-365 | 586 g | 4.8:1 | 11 kg | 0.35 mm / 390 m, 0.40 mm / 300 m, 0.50 mm / 185 m |
Each model is supplied as one reel with an extra graphite spool.
Check that the reel is firmly attached to a suitable rod and that the drag, handle, spool and line guide work correctly before each use. Do not use a damaged reel or modify it. Clean it regularly with a soft cloth, especially after saltwater exposure, and follow the manufacturer's lubrication and maintenance instructions. Store it dry. Keep fingers, hair and clothing clear of moving parts, and supervise children when using the reel.
