Choose by supplied line diameter, weight and capacity. The 2000 has 0.20 mm mono and weighs 242 g, the 3000 has 0.28 mm and weighs 280 g, the 4000 has 0.30 mm and weighs 292 g, and the 5000 has 0.35 mm and weighs 401 g. The 2000 is the lightest choice, while the 5000 offers the most capacity at comparable diameters. The 4000 retrieves 83.7 cm per turn compared with the 3000's 68 cm for only 12 g extra weight.
Every reel comes with monofilament on a graphite spool, in 0.20, 0.28, 0.30 or 0.35 mm according to size. This removes the initial spooling step. The supplied length and breaking strain are not stated. Capacity figures instead show how much mono fits at specified diameters, so do not treat them as the included line length.
It allows a fish to take line during a bite, which suits the stated bottom and carp fishing uses. All sizes also have a smooth rear drag with felt drag material for controlled line release during the fight. Choose the size by its line and capacity requirements, not by the presence of free spool, which is shared across the range.
Yes. The handle position is listed as right/left for every size, so the handle can be fitted to match your preferred retrieve hand. The instant anti-reverse has an on/off switch, allowing you to select whether reverse handle rotation is blocked.
The supported use is freshwater all-round, feeder, bottom and carp fishing. No saltwater suitability or corrosion protection is specified. For sea fishing, choose a reel with an explicit saltwater rating rather than assuming that the graphite construction provides one.

The DAM Quick Nova is a freshwater spinning reel with a free-spool system for all-round, feeder, bottom and carp fishing. Its graphite spool comes filled with monofilament line, so you do not need to spool the reel before setting up. Four sizes let you choose the supplied line diameter, reel weight and line capacity to suit your setup.
The free-spool system lets a fish take line during a bite, while the smooth rear drag controls line release during the fight. Felt is used in the drag. An on/off switch controls the instant anti-reverse, and the handle can be fitted on either side for left- or right-hand retrieve. The tough graphite body and rotor support everyday freshwater use, with one steel bearing supporting the retrieve.
All four sizes share the same construction and fishing uses. The 2000 is also described for perch and trout, the 3000 for eel, perch, trout, zander, carp, tench, bream and roach, and the 4000 and 5000 for carp and pike. These species indications complement the specifications rather than replacing a check of your complete setup.
Size | Supplied mono | Weight | Gear ratio | Retrieve per turn | Maximum drag |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
2000 | 0.20 mm | 242 g | 5.2:1 | 64 cm | 4.5 kg |
3000 | 0.28 mm | 280 g | 5.2:1 | 68 cm | 5.5 kg |
4000 | 0.30 mm | 292 g | 5.2:1 | 83.7 cm | 5.5 kg |
5000 | 0.35 mm | 401 g | 5.0:1 | 83.7 cm | 26.5 kg |
The 2000 is the lightest option and comes with the finest supplied line. The 3000 adds thicker mono, more retrieve per turn and a higher maximum drag, at an extra 38 g. The 4000 weighs only 12 g more than the 3000 and takes in more line per turn, with the same maximum drag. The 5000 has the thickest supplied mono and the greatest listed capacity at comparable diameters, but weighs 109 g more than the 4000. Its lower gear ratio still produces the same stated retrieve per turn as the 4000.
Use the mono capacities below when comparing replacement line. They describe capacity at each diameter, not how much line is supplied on the reel. In particular, the 2000 comes with 0.20 mm mono although its first capacity rating is for 0.23 mm.
2000: 230 m of 0.23 mm, 135 m of 0.30 mm or 100 m of 0.35 mm.
3000: 165 m of 0.30 mm, 120 m of 0.35 mm or 90 m of 0.40 mm.
4000: 195 m of 0.30 mm, 145 m of 0.35 mm or 110 m of 0.40 mm.
5000: 215 m of 0.35 mm, 165 m of 0.40 mm or 105 m of 0.50 mm.
The stated water type is freshwater. The supplied information does not establish saltwater suitability or a breaking strain for the pre-spooled line.
