No. Each graphite spool is already filled with monofilament: 0.20 mm on the 2000, 0.28 mm on the 3000, 0.30 mm on the 4000 and 0.35 mm on the 5000. Choose the version whose supplied line suits your setup, then attach your rig.
All four are intended for freshwater allround, feeder, bottom and carp fishing. Their free-spool system allows line to be taken during static bait fishing. Saltwater suitability is not stated, so choose them for the supported freshwater applications.
Compare weight, supplied line and capacity. The 2000 is lightest at 242 g with 0.20 mm mono, the 3000 is 280 g with 0.28 mm, the 4000 is 292 g with 0.30 mm and the 5000 is 401 g with 0.35 mm. At the same line diameter, the larger sizes hold more line, at the cost of extra weight.
Yes. The handle position is specified as right/left, and all sizes have an anti-reverse on/off switch. Mount the handle on your preferred side and choose whether backward handle rotation is allowed.
The 4000 and 5000 both retrieve 83.7 cm per turn, compared with 64 cm for the 2000 and 68 cm for the 3000. Choose by this figure when comparing how much line each turn brings back, rather than by gear ratio alone: the 5000 has 5.0:1 gearing, while the other three have 5.2:1.

The DAM Quick Nova RD is a freshwater reel for allround, feeder, bottom and carp fishing. Its graphite spool comes filled with monofilament line, so you do not need to spool it before setting up your rig. All four sizes have a free-spool system that allows a fish to take line during static bait fishing.
The smooth rear drag uses felt drag material. A switch lets you turn the anti-reverse function on or off, giving you a choice over backward handle movement. The handle can be positioned on either side to suit left- or right-hand winding. One steel bearing supports the reel's rotating mechanism. The body, rotor and spool are made from tough graphite for regular freshwater use.
The 2000 is the lightest version at 242 g and comes with 0.20 mm mono. The 3000 moves up to 0.28 mm mono and 280 g. Both have supplier-supported perch and trout applications. The 3000 also lists eel, zander, carp, tench, bream and roach as target fish. The 4000 comes with 0.30 mm mono and weighs 292 g. The 5000 has the thickest supplied line at 0.35 mm and weighs 401 g. The two larger sizes have explicit carp and pike applications. All four are also described as suitable for feeder, bottom and carp fishing.
Compare capacity at the same diameter rather than assuming the diameter of the supplied line is the capacity rating. At 0.30 mm, the 2000 holds 135 m, the 3000 holds 165 m and the 4000 holds 195 m. The 5000 holds 215 m at 0.35 mm, compared with 145 m for the 4000 at that diameter. More capacity comes with more reel weight.
| Size | Supplied mono | Weight | Gear ratio | Retrieve per turn | Maximum drag | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | 2000 | 0.20 mm | 242 g | 5.2:1 | 64 cm | 4.5 kg | | 3000 | 0.28 mm | 280 g | 5.2:1 | 68 cm | 5.5 kg | | 4000 | 0.30 mm | 292 g | 5.2:1 | 83.7 cm | 5.5 kg | | 5000 | 0.35 mm | 401 g | 5.0:1 | 83.7 cm | 26.5 kg |
The 4000 and 5000 recover more line per turn than the smaller sizes, which matters when bringing a bottom or feeder rig back in. Their equal retrieve rate does not mean an equal gear ratio.
| Size | Diameter / length combinations | | --- | --- | | 2000 | 0.23 mm / 230 m, 0.30 mm / 135 m, 0.35 mm / 100 m | | 3000 | 0.30 mm / 165 m, 0.35 mm / 120 m, 0.40 mm / 90 m | | 4000 | 0.30 mm / 195 m, 0.35 mm / 145 m, 0.40 mm / 110 m | | 5000 | 0.35 mm / 215 m, 0.40 mm / 165 m, 0.50 mm / 105 m |
Choose the line diameter and capacity for your intended setup. These reels are specified for freshwater, with no supplied saltwater suitability claim.
