Yes, all sizes come pre-spooled with Abulon® braid. The 2000 has 85 m of 0.15 mm braid, the 2500 has 125 m of 0.15 mm braid, and the 3000 and 4000 have 125 m of 0.19 mm braid. The 2500, 3000 and 4000 also have monofilament backing. Choose the line diameter and length with your intended setup in mind, without needing to spool the reel first.
The 2000 weighs 218 g with 3 kg maximum drag, the 2500 weighs 230 g with 3.1 kg, the 3000 weighs 235 g with 6.4 kg, and the 4000 weighs 264 g with 6.4 kg. Choose the 2000 for the lowest reel weight, or compare the larger sizes when your setup needs more drag capacity. The 4000 does not increase the drag limit over the 3000.
No. All four have a 5.2:1 gear ratio, but the specified retrieve is 64 cm for the 2000, 68 cm for the 2500, 64 cm for the 3000 and 78 cm for the 4000. Compare the actual retrieve figures when choosing how much line to take in with each handle turn, rather than relying on size alone.
The handle can be mounted on the right or left, so all four sizes accommodate your preferred winding hand. Each has an aluminium spool, but no spare spool is supplied. You can change the handle side, but the package does not provide a second spool for switching line fills.

The Abu Garcia Max X family comprises freshwater spinning reels supplied with Abulon® braided line already on the spool. This removes the initial spooling step when preparing a lure-fishing setup. Choose from sizes 2000, 2500, 3000 and 4000, with different weights, drag limits, line capacities and retrieve rates. All share a 5.2:1 gear ratio and grey/black finish.
The handle can be fitted on the right or left, so you can choose your winding hand. Its aluminium construction and soft-touch knob provide the contact point for repeated retrieves. Instant Anti-Reverse prevents backward rotation when taking up tension. The 4+1 bearing arrangement gives five bearings in total.
An A-Symmetric graphite frame and rotor form the reel body and rotating assembly. The aluminium spool incorporates the Rocket line management™ system for line handling. Front drag puts adjustment at the spool, with oil-felt drag material. Maximum drag differs by size, so compare the figures rather than assuming that every Max X has the same limit. No spare spool is included, so a second pre-loaded spool is not part of this package.

The 2000 is the lightest option. The 2500 adds line capacity and retrieves 4 cm more per turn at a 12 g weight increase. The 3000 offers a higher maximum drag than either smaller size while weighing only 5 g more than the 2500, but its specified retrieve is 64 cm. The 4000 shares the 3000's drag limit and takes in more line per turn, at a further 29 g. Compare these differences with the weight and line requirements of your spinning setup.
The 2000 is supplied with 85 m of braid. The 2500 has 125 m of braid over 35 m of 0.30 mm monofilament backing. The 3000 has 125 m of braid over 40 m of 0.30 mm monofilament, while the 4000 has 125 m of braid over 80 m of 0.35 mm monofilament. The supplied braid is described as Hi-vis Green, with a line rating of approximately 6.8 kg (15 lb) for the 2000 and 2500, and approximately 9.1 kg (20 lb) for the 3000 and 4000. These are line ratings, not reel drag limits.
For refilling, the listed monofilament capacities are 170 m/0.18 mm, 140 m/0.20 mm or 90 m/0.25 mm for the 2000. The 2500 holds 220 m/0.20 mm, 120 m/0.25 mm or 100 m/0.30 mm. The 3000 holds 165 m/0.25 mm, 150 m/0.28 mm or 130 m/0.30 mm. The 4000 holds 265 m/0.25 mm, 185 m/0.30 mm or 135 m/0.35 mm, with a separate stated braid capacity of 100 m/0.18 mm.
