The Abu Garcia MAX X spinning reels cover light trout fishing through to lure fishing for perch, zander and pike. Three ball bearings and one roller bearing provide smooth operation, while the lightweight graphite body and rotor keep weight down during active fishing. All five sizes accept monofilament and braided line and have a front drag and a handle that can be fitted on either side.
Slow Oscillation distributes line evenly across the spool. The Rocket Line Management™ System improves control with different line types, and Rocket spool lip design™ controls line leaving the spool during casting. Specified braid capacities are 170 m at 0.15 mm for SP20, 160 m at 0.17 mm for SP30 and 190 m at 0.20 mm for SP40. Use the capacity for your chosen line type and diameter rather than comparing lengths alone.
SP20, SP30 and SP40 have felt drag material and Instant Anti-Reverse, which prevents backward handle movement. These three models are specified for freshwater, are supplied without line and do not include a spare spool.
