The Beast reels are designed for freshwater fishing with stainless steel components and Salt Shield bearings that provide corrosion resistance. While they can handle occasional saltwater exposure and rinsing, they are not specifically engineered for regular saltwater use and are best suited for rivers, lakes, and reservoirs.

The maximum drag varies by size: the 4000 offers 10 kg, while the 3000 and 3500 offer 6.4 kg. The carbon matrix construction resists heat and provides reliable performance under sustained pressure.
The 4000 has a 5.2:1 gear ratio, meaning each turn of the handle retrieves 84 cm of line. The 3000 and 3500 have a faster 6.2:1 ratio, retrieving 68–69 cm per turn respectively. A faster ratio suits aggressive presentations and shorter distances, while the 4000's slightly slower ratio provides more cranking power for large, heavy baits and strong fish.
