The 6.6:1 version retrieves 66 cm per handle turn, while the 8.1:1 version retrieves 81 cm. Choose 6.6:1 for a slower retrieve at the same cranking pace or 8.1:1 for faster line pickup. Size 100, 180 g weight and 9 kg maximum drag are the same on both.
Both are freshwater lure reels for pike, bass, zander, perch and trout. The supplier specifies light softbaits and crankbaits through to medium and heavy offerings such as larger soft lures and jerkbaits. No numerical lure-weight range is supplied, so these examples do not establish a precise casting-weight limit.
Both versions have a left-hand handle and a monofilament capacity of 130 m at 0.28 mm diameter. Choose either version if you want to retrieve with your left hand. The stated capacity applies to that line diameter, and Line-ID helps identify the line you have fitted.
The size 100 uses an internal centrifugal brake, with a hinged side plate for access. The external brake listed in the family specifications belongs to size 250, not these size 100 variants. Choose these reels with internal brake adjustment in mind.

The Savage Gear SG8 100 is a low-profile baitcasting (BC) reel with left-hand (LH) retrieve for freshwater lure fishing. Its one-piece aluminium frame resists flex under load, while the internal centrifugal brake controls the spool during casting. Both versions suit light softbaits and crankbaits as well as medium to heavy offerings such as larger soft lures and jerkbaits. The supplier names pike, bass, zander, perch and trout as target species.
The 6.6:1 version retrieves 66 cm per handle turn, giving a slower retrieve at the same cranking pace. The 8.1:1 version retrieves 81 cm per turn for faster line pickup. Choose according to the retrieve speed you want, rather than size or weight. Both versions are size 100, weigh 180 g and have a maximum drag of 9 kg.
Both reels have the handle on the left and hold 130 m of 0.28 mm monofilament. Line-ID helps identify the line fitted to the reel. Flat TPE soft-touch handle knobs provide a comfortable grip, and the Dragclicker gives audible feedback when line is taken against the drag.
The size 100 has an internal centrifugal brake and a hinged side plate for access to the casting brake. Its non-loss tension knob stays with the reel during adjustment. DuraGrease and 7+1 steel ball bearings, including two Japanese bearings, support smooth running. The EDP-painted aluminium frame and side plates are paired with a separate stainless-steel reel seat and a brass worm shaft.
