The Salmonoid CCS rods are primarily designed for coastal seatrout (sea trout) and seabass fishing with lures. Their moderate-fast action and casting performance make them well suited for spoons, spinners and small coastal lures.
For maximum casting distance, choose the 290 cm variant (8–28 g). Its longer blank provides the most leverage for long casts. If you need long reach but prefer lighter lures, the 279 cm 5–18 g variant is a good compromise.
Both share the same length and moderate-fast action, but differ in power class. The L version (5–18 g) is lighter at 151 g and handles smaller lures, while the ML version (7–23 g) weighs 153 g and handles slightly heavier lures for more versatility in medium conditions.
The 246 cm model is the shortest and lightest in the range at just 132 g, making it easy to handle. Its lighter casting weight range (5–18 g) and moderate-fast action provide a forgiving feel, which can be helpful for less experienced anglers learning coastal spinning techniques.
