The Sticklebait Pencil comes in three sizes: 5.5 cm / 7 g (sinking), 6.5 cm / 10.5 g (sinking), and 7.5 cm in two versions — 17 g (sinking) and 13 g (slow sinking). Each size is available in five colour patterns.
The sinking version (17 g at 7.5 cm) drops faster and reaches the target depth more quickly, making it suitable for active retrieves and deeper presentations. The slow sinking version (13 g at 7.5 cm) has a longer hang time in the strike zone, which can be more effective when fish are less active or feeding in the upper water column.
For average-sized perch, the 5.5 cm / 7 g model is a good starting point. If you are targeting larger perch or mixed predator species, the 6.5 cm / 10.5 g offers more casting distance while still matching typical perch prey sizes. The 7.5 cm models work well when larger perch are present or when extra casting range is needed.
Each lure comes pre-rigged with one SGY 1X treble hook and one GPS single hook. The hook sizes vary by lure size: 5.5 cm uses #10 treble + #4 single, 6.5 cm uses #8 treble + #2 single, and 7.5 cm uses #6 treble + #1 single.
In clear water, natural patterns like Ayu Green Silver and Brown Trout Smolt tend to perform well. In murky or stained water, high-contrast options such as Fluorescent Orange Copper and Black Red provide better visibility. Black Silver is a versatile all-round choice.
The Sticklebait Pencil is designed primarily for perch, trout, and sea trout, but it also works well for pike, zander, and other freshwater and saltwater predators. The stickleback profile is a universal prey pattern recognised by many species.
