After casting, the rig is allowed to sink to the bottom on a taut main line. The rod is then rested with the tip pointing toward the rig, and line is slowly released from the reel until the bait hangs at the exact depth you want above the lake bed — a simple, repeatable method for finding and holding the productive zone.

Built for Buoyant Trout Baits

The system works best with high-buoyancy baits such as floating trout dough balls or wax moth larvae combined with a foam float body. The oval float body in the rig counters the weight of the lead, lifting the hooklink and bait into suspension so the presentation stays natural and attractive at depth.
