SLAIV7500 SLAMMER IV 7500 SPN REEL BOX
incl. VAT, excl.
The Penn Slammer IV 7500 delivers unstoppable cranking strength for saltwater trophy fish, from large cod and tuna to powerful amberjack and grouper. With a sealed IPX6 body, reinforced Dura-Drag system, and full brass CNC gearing, this reel thrives in harsh offshore and inshore conditions where reliability matters most.
An IPX6-rated body and spool keep saltwater out of the drivetrain, while the sealed Slammer drag system with Dura-Drag washers resists corrosion and delivers consistent stopping power under heavy loads. The hydrophobic line roller bearing sheds water to prevent salt buildup, ensuring smooth line flow even after repeated immersions.
The 4.7:1 gear ratio and 97 cm retrieve per turn provide the low-end torque needed to muscle large fish away from structure, while CNC-machined brass gears and a 9-bearing system (8+1 stainless steel) keep the retrieve smooth under maximum drag. The full metal body and sideplate eliminate flex, so every turn translates directly into lifting power. A 22.6 kg max drag and 814 g weight balance strength with all-day fishability.
The Slammer IV series spans inshore to offshore applications. Match your reel size to your target species and line class:
2500 (312 g, 6.2:1, 84 cm retrieve, 9 kg drag) — light inshore: sea trout, striped bass, small tuna on spinning tackle; 255 m / 6 lb mono
2500HS (312 g, 7.0:1, 99 cm retrieve, 9 kg drag) — high-speed retrieve for fast lures and schooling fish
3500 (394 g, 6.2:1, 94 cm retrieve, 13.6 kg drag) — medium inshore/light offshore: bluefish, bonito, mid-size tuna; 330 m / 0.23 mm mono
4500 (425 g, 6.2:1, 102 cm retrieve, 13.6 kg drag) — versatile inshore/offshore: striped bass, cobia, dolphin fish; 425 m / 8 lb mono
4500HS (425 g, 7.0:1, 117 cm retrieve, 13.6 kg drag) — high-speed variant for fast-moving pelagics
6500 (686 g, 5.6:1, 107 cm retrieve, 18.1 kg drag) — medium offshore: tuna, amberjack, large stripers; 390 m / 12 lb mono; manual bail trip
6500HS — high-speed variant with manual bail
7500 (814 g, 4.7:1, 97 cm retrieve, 22.6 kg drag) — heavy offshore: large tuna, grouper, tarpon; 490 m / 15 lb mono; manual bail trip for demanding conditions
8500 (870 g, 4.7:1, 107 cm retrieve, 22.6 kg drag) — extra line capacity for trophy tuna and billfish; 415 m / 0.46 mm mono; manual bail trip
8500HS (870 g, 5.3:1, 127 cm retrieve, 22.6 kg drag) — faster retrieve for working big baits and lures
10500 (1215 g, 4.2:1, 109 cm retrieve, 27.2 kg drag) — ultimate big-game power: giant tuna, marlin, large sharks; 395 m / 0.56 mm mono; manual bail trip
Sizes 2500–5500 feature automatic bail trip; sizes 6500–10500 (including this 7500) use manual bail trip for added reliability under extreme loads.
