The Penn Battle III Longcast 8000 combines CNC-machined gearing, a forged aluminium Long Stroke spool and slow oscillation to deliver exceptional casting performance for surf fishing, carp angling and saltwater techniques where distance matters.
CNC Gear™ technology ensures precise gear alignment and silky-smooth retrieval, while the HT-100™ carbon fibre drag system provides 13.6 kg of sealed, reliable stopping power. The full-metal body and sideplate keep internals perfectly aligned under heavy loads, and 5 sealed stainless steel ball bearings plus an Instant Anti-Reverse bearing guarantee dependable performance in harsh conditions.
The machined aluminium Long Stroke spool works with a slow oscillation system to lay line evenly and tightly, minimising friction on the cast. Braid-ready from the box, the spool holds 485 m of 0.35 mm mono or up to 540 yards of 30 lb braid. At 748 g with a 94 cm retrieve per turn, the 8000 balances power and handling for long-range sessions.
The Battle III Longcast series is designed for anglers who need maximum casting distance in both saltwater and freshwater environments.
7000 (662 g, 81 cm retrieve, 12 kg drag) — lighter option for medium-range surf fishing, light carp work and estuary spinning where mobility is key
8000 (748 g, 94 cm retrieve, 13.6 kg drag) — extended casting range and higher drag for heavy surf fishing, long-distance carp sessions and serious saltwater applications targeting larger species
