The Gamakatsu Weighted Super Line EWG (Extra Wide Gap) is a purpose-built offset hook for anglers targeting predatory fish with soft plastics. Size 5/0 with a 1.8g shank weight gives you just enough ballast to fish near the bottom without sacrificing natural bait action.
A built-in Twist Lock spiral at the hook eye locks your softbait firmly into position at the head — even during powerful casts. The bait stays true, stays weedless, and takes far less damage than with conventional rigging, meaning fewer bait changes mid-session.
The fixed 1.8g lead weight sits directly on the shank, giving the rig a controlled, near-bottom fall that triggers strikes from perch, zander, and pike. It's an ideal alternative to a separate jig head when you want a more natural softbait profile while still getting down to where the predators are holding.
