The Gamakatsu Worm Offset EWG (Extra Wide Gap) hook is engineered for soft-bait fishing, letting you work rubber lures through weedy, snaggy water and put them in front of perch and pike-perch with confidence.
Mount your soft bait so the hook point rests along the lure's back, fully shielded from vegetation and bottom debris. When a predator strikes, the lure compresses, the point clears, and the wide-gap geometry drives a solid hookset — even with a slow, deliberate retrieve.
The Offset EWG design suits a broad range of soft-bait techniques. Use it for slow-rolling creature baits and shad imitations on a jig head or Texas rig, or rig it weedless for drop-shot presentations targeting perch and pike-perch at any depth.
All variants share the same Offset EWG pattern; choose by hook size and pack quantity to match your target species and lure size:
Size 1 – 6 pieces: Light finesse rigs; small soft plastics for perch in clear, pressured water
