The Balzer MK Hechtpose (Pike Float) is a purpose-built deadbait and trolling float designed to make depth-finding straightforward and keep your bait exactly where the pike are.
At the heart of this float is its internal kink guide — a cleverly angled line channel that locks the float at the correct depth the moment your weight touches bottom. Set your stop knot well above the expected depth, cast out, and retrieve under tension once the sinker hits the lakebed. The float automatically settles and holds at the true water depth, letting you then dial in your fishing depth with the stop knot. No guesswork, no repeated plumbing.
The teardrop body shape isn't just for casting. It keeps the float upright and slip-free even at higher trolling speeds, making it a reliable choice when slow-trolling deadbaits along reed edges or drop-offs. For weighting, around two-thirds of the rated buoyancy (approximately 17 g of lead) is recommended, giving the float a sensitive yet stable presentation.
