The Balzer MK Pike Float is a purpose-built deadbait (deadbait/drifting float) pike float designed to present natural baits at exactly the right depth, whether you're static deadbaiting or trolling.
The defining feature of this float is its internal plumb-kink line guide. To find your depth, simply set the stop knot well above the expected water depth, cast out, and once the weight touches the bottom, retrieve with a taut line. The kink causes the float to lock at the true water depth, so you can slide the stop knot down to your exact target depth without repeated guesswork.
The teardrop body shape keeps the float tracking true even at higher troll speeds, making it equally useful for covering water behind a boat or kayak with a natural baitfish. For static fishing, around two-thirds of the stated load capacity is the recommended shotting weight — leaving enough buoyancy to register a clean take without excess resistance.
