The FTM Floating Trout Paste (Forellenteig) in Garlic/Cadaver scent is a versatile, easy-to-mould bait that works equally well fished static or on the move – a reliable choice for stillwater trout sessions.
The intense dual-note aroma of garlic and cadaver disperses steadily through the water column, triggering trout from a distance. This scent combination is particularly effective in stillwaters where fish have time to home in on a stationary or slowly drifting bait.
The paste's consistent, workable texture means you can tailor the presentation to your approach. For active fishing, mould it into a spinner or propeller shape so it rotates on the retrieve – hook sizes 4–6 work well here. For passive, static rigs, roll it into a ball and hide the hook inside with just the point showing at the edge; hook sizes 6–8 are ideal. Either way, the buoyant paste lifts off bottom, keeping the scent trail active and the bait visible to patrolling trout.
