SODWANA 5'5 30-50 1P
incl. VAT, excl.
The Sodwana is Williamson's answer to serious offshore fishing without the premium price tag. Built around a super stiff blank with real backbone, it handles extended fights with confidence and pairs quality components with a design tested in some of the world's most demanding waters.
Despite its super stiff action, the Sodwana blank remains responsive under load — giving you the feel you need to read the fight without sacrificing the lifting power required to turn big fish. The stiff lower section keeps energy transfer efficient, so you're working the rod, not fighting it.
A roller tip is positioned where line angle and friction peak, reducing wear and releasing pressure during long battles. The Performance Slick Butt protects both the rod and your rod holder from damage, while stiffening the butt section for more direct power delivery. An aluminium reel seat and aluminium gimbal round out a hardware list that punches well above the rod's price point.
The Sodwana series covers a range of line classes for different target species and offshore setups. Select based on your target fish and typical line class:
SODWANA 5'5 12-20 1P (1.73m, 707g) — light line class, suitable for smaller pelagics and finesse trolling
SODWANA 5'8 20-30 1P (1.73m, 759g) — versatile mid-range option for a broad mix of offshore species
SODWANA 5'5 30-50 1P (1.65m, 765g) — current variant; 30–50 lb class, ideal for medium to large pelagics, bottom fishing, and demanding boat fishing situations
