No. It can be trolled without added bait, with ballyhoo or with strip bait. You can therefore use the skirted lure alone or combine it with natural bait.
The lure is pre-rigged with a Premium Sufix® leader rated at 79 kg (175 lb) and a VMC® 9/0 hook. These components are already fitted, rather than supplied as loose rig-building parts.
The stated maximum trolling speed is 7 knots and swimming depth is variable. Stay within that speed limit and do not choose it on the assumption that it holds a specified fixed depth.
Only the documented colour code changes: CF, MC, MH, BK, SJ or SL. Every version is a 21 cm, 100 g BGCX8 with the same leader rating and hook size, so your selection changes the colour rather than the lure size or rig.

The Big Game Catcher Rigged is a heavy-duty skirted trolling lure for billfish and large marine gamefish worldwide. Its concave pusher head produces an erratic swimming action. The BGCX8 model measures 21 cm, is described as an 8-inch lure and weighs 100 g.
Use it with ballyhoo, strip bait or without added bait. This gives you the choice of combining the skirted lure with natural bait or fishing it on its own. Troll at speeds up to 7 knots. Swimming depth is variable, with no fixed running depth specified.
The lure comes pre-rigged with a Premium Sufix® leader rated at 79 kg (175 lb) and a VMC® 9/0 hook. A holographic 3D eye and embedded holographic foil detail the head. The skirt combines durable synthetic material with holographic foil, adding reflective detail to the moving skirt.
The six versions are CF, MC, MH, BK, SJ and SL. All share the same BGCX8 model, 21 cm length, 100 g weight and rig specifications. Colour is the only documented difference, so choose the colour code you want without changing size or rig.
Check the lure, hook and connections for damage before use, and do not fish damaged components. Use pliers when handling the hook, keep it away from children and store the lure in a closed, dry tackle box. Use only for fishing and observe local regulations.
