WFT Penzill Smooth Fluorocarbon 100m - Vorfachschnur
Designed for active lure fishing, the WFT Penzill Smooth Fluorocarbon leader material combines high abrasion resistance with excellent knot strength — a reliable all-rounder for spinning and soft-bait presentations in both fresh and salt water.
Fluorocarbon refracts light at a similar index to water, making this leader virtually invisible to fish. This characteristic makes the 0.25 mm / 5.3 kg variant especially effective in clear water and when targeting wary predators such as trout and perch that may otherwise shy away from visible trace material.
A purposeful degree of stiffness reduces tangles during the cast and minimises snags — without sacrificing the suppleness needed for reliable knot tying. Small lures and soft plastics still move naturally, so zander, perch, trout, and other predators get a lifelike presentation on every retrieve.
All variants come on a 100 m spool with high abrasion resistance and suit both freshwater and saltwater unless noted. Match diameter and breaking strain to your target species and lure size:
0.18 mm / 2.3 kg — ultra-light setups, small spinners and micro soft-baits, cautious perch and trout in clear water
0.20 mm / 2.9 kg — light spinning, small plugs and finesse rigs, perch and trout
0.25 mm / 5.3 kg — all-round spinning and soft-bait leader, perch, zander, and trout; ideal balance of stealth and strength
0.28 mm / 6.1 kg — medium spinning, larger soft plastics, zander and pike on lighter gear
0.30 mm / 7.0 kg — heavier spinning, pike and larger zander, robust structure fishing (monofilament construction)
0.35 mm / 10.0 kg — strong freshwater leader for pike, large zander, or abrasive terrain (freshwater only)
