The W4 Powercast 2nd spinning rods combine pike lure fishing with saltwater boat work. Their sensitive, medium-fast Japanese Torayca® carbon blanks provide backbone for playing fish, while the shaped, extended front handle helps control small lure movements. Use them for shads and other pike lures, bottom fishing for plaice and turbot, or casting lighter jigs for halibut within the chosen casting range.
Both versions are 240 cm long with two sections. The H is rated 40–130 g and 6–8 lb, with a supplier net weight of 321 g. It covers the lower end of the family's casting range. The XH is rated 60–180 g and 8–10 lb, with a supplier net weight of 332 g. It extends the upper casting limit by 50 g, but starts at 60 g rather than 40 g. Choose by the lure weight you intend to cast, not by target fish alone. Both share the same intended uses and medium-fast action.
The UltraGrip handle uses high-quality EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate), with an extended front section for controlled lure work. A custom non-slip rubber bottom cap provides a secure contact surface. The rods also feature a specially designed Comfort Cross Gimbal (CCG).
The blank is reinforced with 1k woven carbon. A Fuji® DPS reel seat holds the reel, and SeaGuide® LS-XQ ring guides carry the line. These components are shared by both power options.
The two-piece construction reduces each rod to a transport length of 126 cm. A SeaGuide® D-Hook hook keeper provides a dedicated place to secure the hook between fishing spots.
