Choose the 236 cm 5XH version for 130–260 g lures or the 244 cm 6XH version for 150–290 g lures. The longer version covers heavier lures but weighs 222 g rather than 217 g, so match the casting range to the lures you actually use.
Westin recommends a size 300 Westin BaitCaster reel. These are baitcasting rods with a Carbon SKC-LS reel seat, so use that reel type as the basis for your setup rather than a fixed-spool spinning reel.
They are designed for large predators such as pike and muskie with heavy softbaits, swimbaits and other oversized lures. The fast, responsive Torayca® carbon blank supports control through the cast, retrieve and fight. Select the version whose casting range covers your chosen lures.
