Westin W10 is a braided main line for lure fishing that combines high strength and abrasion resistance with a smooth surface. Its tightly woven construction and Dura-Coating reduce friction for longer, more accurate casts. All versions in this family come in Orchid Purple on a 135 m spool.
Premium Japanese ultra-high molecular polyethylene (UHMPE) fibres form a 13-carrier CORE (12+1) construction. Twelve carriers are woven tightly around a central carrier to create a uniformly round profile, with improved strength compared with 8-carrier braids. The construction also provides high knot strength. Advanced Ultra High PIC uses 56 weaves per inch to produce a smoother surface and greater abrasion resistance, useful where the main line is exposed to rubbing during fishing.
The Dura-Coating gel process creates a smooth, hydrophobic surface. This reduces water absorption and friction through the rod guides, supporting distance and accuracy when casting lures. For colour retention, the braid is soaked in dye tanks, oven-cured to fix the pigment, then sealed with a final dura-coat for improved longevity.
