The Sandy Andy range combines a scientifically-designed sand eel body shape with ultra-sharp Japanese-style sea hooks, active 3D eyes that create visual attraction, and a proprietary soft material that provides lifelike flexibility. Each lure ships with one pre-rigged jig head and two replacement soft bodies, maximizing value and durability.
For seatrout and sea bass: 10-14cm models (12-32g). For cod and larger seatrout: 17-22cm models (62-122g). For deep-water cod, ling and halibut: 23-28cm models (150-300g). Lighter models work in shallow coastal waters; heavier versions for offshore jigging in 20-100m depths.
Natural patterns (Tobis Ammo, Pearl Sand, Spotted Sardine) work well in clear water and daylight. Contrasting colours (Glowing Lipstick, Headlight, Motoroil Gadus) excel in murky conditions and low light. Shock colours (Bluetooth, Robocod) provoke aggressive strikes in competitive situations. Most anglers carry 2-3 patterns and adjust based on water clarity and light conditions.
Yes! Each jig ships with one rigged head and two soft bodies. When a body becomes damaged or worn, simply remove it from the hook and slide on a fresh replacement. Bodies are designed to stay firmly in place during use but slide off easily for maintenance. This design extends lure life significantly and offers excellent value compared to single-piece jigs.
Vertical jigging (most effective), steady retrieve near the seabed, lift-and-drop motions, and slow sweeping patterns all produce strikes. Lighter models (10-15cm) excel when cast and retrieved from the shore or shallow waters. Heavier models (23-28cm) dominate in offshore deep-water situations. Many experienced anglers vary retrieval speed until they find the pattern that triggers bites on the day.
Yes! While designed for sea fishing, the Sandy Andy range works excellently for pike and large perch in lakes, rivers and estuaries. The lifelike body and active eyes trigger aggressive strikes from freshwater predators. Lighter models (12-32g) work better for perch and smaller pike; heavier versions (62-150g) excel for trophy pike fishing.
