Its baitfish-like silhouette and swimming action attract trout, while its ability to cast far even into strong headwinds helps you reach fish in exposed conditions. It can be retrieved fast or slowly and used in extremely shallow water.
The range offers 12 g, 18 g and 26 g versions. Supplier-listed lengths include 7 cm at 12 g, 9 cm at 18 g and 11 cm at 26 g. Choose the small or medium version for a slow winter presentation to selective trout. Add occasional pauses and several short rod-tip twitches rather than relying on a constant retrieve. Westin recommends the largest version for summer night fishing for big trout and reports catches exceeding 5 kg with the Salty.
