Yes, wet the mat before measuring to help protect the fish's natural mucus coating. Prepare the surface before placing your catch on it.

The Westin Pro Measure Mat is a roll-up fish measuring mat for use on land or in the boat. Accurate centimetre markings help you measure your catch quickly, while hook-and-loop dots help hold the mat in place on boat carpet.
S measures 25 x 60 cm and weighs 213 g. It provides the shortest measuring surface, with the same width as L. M measures 10 x 120 cm and weighs 110 g, offering twice the length of S on a narrower mat. L measures 25 x 140 cm and weighs 326 g, providing the longest and widest option together, at a higher weight. Choose according to the length and width you need, rather than the size letter alone.
The improved PC (polycarbonate) board, stainless steel screws and strong, durable PVC mat form the measuring tool. The mat rolls up for compact storage and comes with a mesh pouch, making it easier to pack away between uses.
Moisten the mat before placing a fish on it to help protect the fish's natural mucus coating. The hook-and-loop dots are intended to help secure it on boat carpet, while the mat can also be used on land.
